Alecto mk3 power level

Hi All,

Recently bought an Alecto mk3 in .177, had a couple of hundred pellets through it so far. Ran it across a friends brand new Crony and it gave measurement of 4.41 ft/lbs on 3 pumps with both JSB Exacts and JSB Heavies. I was expecting closer to 5ft/lbs as there shouldn't be much running in required should there? 2 pumps gives 3.76, 1 pump gives 1.91.

Seems a bit on the low side and one of the uses is for knocking down HFT targets out to 25yds so it means I have to be a more accurate than with my Brocock .22!

Any thoughts?

Disappointed there were no responses, seems a very quiet forum (stone dead! see if this generates a comeback).

Sent it back via my very good RFD (Fultons of Bisley) and came back set to 5.7ft/lbs. Really smacks those knockdowns now and almost need my ear plugs on 3 pumps, damn the tinnitus.

I just got an Alecto today. I am a bit dismayed at the power on 3 pumps too. I used RWS super domes 8.3g. Only shows 4.7ft lbs on chrony. Saying that. I have found it to be superbly accurate on 2 pumps. Same hole on targets at 10 metres. I would like to see 5.5 ft lbs on the power though. Feel a bit cheated.
